But for North Idaho residents..., Bill Koll has come to mean high-quality homes, Old World-style craftsmanship, great attention to detail and a strong history spanning four generations.
“I love creating a one-of-a-kind type of house,” he said. “What’s really fun is going back to some I’ve done three or four years ago and remembering what I did, and seeing how the rooms still function and how it functions exactly how the people wanted it.”
Bill’s interest in home building has been with him all his life.

His father, grandfather and great-grandfather were builders and woodworkers, starting with August Juergen Koll, who moved to America from Denmark at 23 and started a planing mill in Los Angeles.

Non-French-speaking types tired of figuring out how to pronounce the name of this nice spot in Idaho simply call it "CDA." No matter. Barbara Walters loves it here, as do the natives who never tire of the city's babbling brooks and stunning scenery. Tourism has grown significantly over the years so traveling on some of the tight country roads can get a little slow. While there's a natural ski environment here, something you probably don't know about Coeur d'Alene (actually pronounced "core da lane") is its flourishing golf culture, which features the world's only moveable floating green. |

Last year, North Idaho welcomed Sundance, a custom-built home on Lake Coeur d’Alene that was the perfect symbol of Northwest living.
It was a 5,850-square-foot structure, blending fine wood, fine stone and fine décor to create something rustic yet elegant.
